Nathan Jarrelle performed live at Funk ’n Waffles in Syracuse, New York, during a September 2026 performance trip to Central New York.
The appearance brought Jarrelle’s music from Virginia to the Syracuse live music scene, with a set combining original songs and acoustic performance.
LIVE AT FUNK ’N WAFFLES
Located in downtown Syracuse, Funk ’n Waffles has built its identity around live music, food and community, regularly hosting concerts and performances from local and touring artists.
For Nathan Jarrelle, the Funk ’n Waffles appearance provided an opportunity to introduce original music to a new live audience while continuing to develop a performance style built around songwriting, vocals and live instrumentation.
The set included “Carolina” from Jarrelle’s album Infinitesimal and “Nevermind ~ Never Mine” from You’re Going to Hate This.
Jarrelle also performed an acoustic rendition of “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls, bringing together original material and a recognizable alternative-rock influence within the same live set.
FROM VIRGINIA TO SYRACUSE
The Syracuse performance represented another step in expanding Nathan Jarrelle’s live presence beyond his home market.
As his music has continued to evolve across hip-hop, alternative, indie, rock, pop and R&B influences, live performance has provided another environment for those different sides of his catalog to meet.
Songs originally developed through studio production can take on a different character when stripped back for acoustic guitar and live vocals.
For Jarrelle, that makes performing more than simply recreating the recording—it becomes another way of presenting the songwriting itself.
